Tuesday, September 1 – Join Glenbrook Presbyterian Church, Mississauga, Ontario, as they thank God for His guidance in calling the Rev. Jinsil Park as their new pastor. Pray that the congregation would be faithful in supporting him in prayer and action as he leads them forward. Please remember that the deadline for Prayer Calendar requests for the next quarter is September 15.
Wednesday, September 2 – Pray for the Underground Teen Ministry in Wallaceburg and Dresden Ontario. Pray for wisdom as leaders Jason and Scott organize staff and arrange for evenings of dynamic worship, practical teaching, great food, and high-energy fun.
Thursday, September 3 – Pray for the Life and Mission Agency, which has been directed by General Assembly to develop resources to guide pastoral care for those considering Medical Assistance in Dying/Physician Assisted Death.
Friday, September 4 – Pray for Knox (Spadina) Presbyterian Church, Toronto, Ontario, as they welcome and minister to university students at the beginning of the new academic year.
Saturday, September 5 – Pray for the March With Arch, a month-long walk for healing for Indian Residential School survivors that begins today in Lhoosk'uz, in the British Columbia Cariboo. Pray for all who walk from Lhoosk'uz to Williams Lake to the site of the former residential school and back – a journey of 700-800 kilometres in total. Pray that participants may find healing and grow in reconciliation.
Sunday, September 6 – As a new season traditionally begins in the church, ask the Lord to help us to be the church in whatever situation we may face.
Monday, September 7 – Labour Day – Pray for God's blessing on the labours of leaders across our denomination who are preparing for the start of various ministries. Please remember that the deadline for Prayer Calendar requests for the next quarter is September 15.
Tuesday, September 8 – Pray for teachers and children as they return to classes, especially for Christians, who seek to show the love of Christ to others at school.
Wednesday, September 9 – As Friendship in Faith is scheduled to resume today at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Simcoe, Ontario, pray that the adults living with a developmental disability who attend may be blessed and encouraged.
Thursday, September 10 – The Parea group meets on Thursday evenings at Cheyene Presbyterian Church, Stoney Creek, Ontario, with junior high and high school students. Pray that their faith would be strengthened and that they would be enabled to share their faith openly and boldly.
Friday, September 11 – Give thanks for pastors and leaders who have learned and embraced new technologies and found different ways to provide weekly worship, music, and teaching to their congregations and communities during church building closures. Pray that they may stay encouraged and visionary.
Saturday, September 12 – Pray for the Blessing Box food pantry on the steps of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, Bathurst, New Brunswick, that those who access the food items may be thankful and blessed.
Sunday, September 13 – Pray for the children in our churches, and thank God for the commitment of those who minister with, to, and among them.
Monday, September 14 – Since COVID, many of our churches have continued to share their Sunday services online for those who cannot attend in person. Pray that we would continue to train volunteers to serve on the audio-visual teams who assist in proclaiming the gospel. Please remember that the deadline for Prayer Calendar requests for the next quarter is tomorrow, September 15.
Tuesday, September 15 – As the Presbytery of Waterloo-Wellington, Ontario, meets today, pray that pastors and elders would listen to the Lord and make God-honouring decisions.
Wednesday, September 16 – Pray for congregations seeking to encounter today's culture with the good news of Jesus Christ, that they may faithfully represent the God who seeks and saves those who are lost.
Thursday, September 17 – As youth ministry for most congregations is precarious (too few and too uncertain), pray that God would give vision, leaders, zeal, and relationships worth celebrating.
Friday, September 18 – Pray for the Presbyteries of Hamilton and Waterloo-Wellington as they host an Intercultural Church Cohort today.
Saturday, September 19 – Since the pastor can't do it alone, pray that our ruling elders may engage life and ministry within our congregations with generous spirits and renewed passion.
Sunday, September 20 – Thank our sovereign Lord that His love and power rule in every situation, and ask God's Spirit to fill our sanctuaries today.
Monday, September 21 – Thank God for the eager contribution of our retired ministers, who continue to support and actively engage in life-giving ministry.
Tuesday, September 22 – Ask God to bless and guide the final proofreading for the complete Sediq-Toda (indigenous) Bible. Paul McLean has been supporting the Sediq-Toda team in Taiwan since 2021. Pray that this Bible would be in people's hands in early 2027.
Wednesday, September 23 – Thank God for putting the General Presbyter for Brampton, the Rev. Emma Duncan, in this position, and for the many great things that she has already contributed to the Presbytery. Pray for her to be given vision into the needs of the Presbytery and for her to be encouraged by the work that she is doing.
Thursday, September 24 – Pray for elders in small churches in northern New Brunswick to be given vision for leadership in realistic and Spirit-inspired mission and outreach initiatives.
Friday, September 25 – Pray for the Golden Friendship Seniors' Lunch at Cheyne Presbyterian Church, Stoney Creek, Ontario, as they meet today with the support of a new leadership team, that this group would take on prayer for the congregation.
Saturday, September 26 – Remember those who continue to find themselves weighed down with grief, that the God of hope may refresh their spirits.
Sunday, September 27 – Presbyterians Sharing Sunday – Pray that God would help all our churches to look outward and care for their communities and the many places around the world that need our prayers and financial support.
Monday, September 28 – Pray that our congregations may know best how to support and encourage new Canadians and share God's love with them.
Tuesday, September 29 – Pray for our brothers and sisters in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and so many countries in the world where they are being persecuted, imprisoned, tortured, and killed for their faith.
Wednesday, September 30 – Pray for the faculty of our Presbyterian theological colleges, that as they teach, they may communicate not only knowledge, but the wonder of God's grace.
